Hello! I have another review for you all today! When I was in London back in June, I wandered into the Duty Free Section at the airport, and I was having a look around the MAC counter (like I do every time) and I finally decided to buy a MAC Lipstick! (Fun Fact: This is my first ever MAC product!) I wanted one that would feel special, and be used for special occasions. This is why I picked "Russian Red". (after a lot of swatches on my arm!)
I had heard a lot about this specific colour, and I was really excited for it to finally be mine. I won't ramble too much, because i'm sure everyone knows all about MAC lipsticks - they really are amazing.
As with all MAC packaging, it's really sleek, and luxurious, and simple, but in a good way. I really like how it fits in my hand, and the bullet shape means that it's really compact, and it fits really nicely into any bag.  I just absolutely love the packaging.
Another thing is that it smells really nice? I honestly can't describe the smell, but if you own a MAC lipstick, you'll know exactly what I mean.
Now onto the actual product.. this is really the most perfect staple red, as i'm sure you can tell from the swatch. It has a cool undertone, which means it makes my teeth look whiter. (Which is a huge plus!)
It also doesn't dry out my lips at all, which I find is rare for a lipstick! I've heard that some MAC lipsticks tend to dry out people's lips, so I was really pleased to find that this wasn't the case.
It's also really easy to apply, considering it's such a bright colour, and it lasts for ages. I had this on when I went ut for a meal with some friends, and it was still on my lips when I came home. Sure, it had faded a little, but it had faded int a really nice pinky-red, which I absolutely loved.
The only downside to this lipstick is that it transfers quite a bit, but that's easily sorted by blotting away excess. (Although that removes a bit of the bold colour.)
Overall, I really adore this lipstick, and I think I may go as far as saying this is up in my top three lipsticks, and I own a lot of them, it's that amazing.
