L'Oreal Studio Matt and Messy Salt Spray || Review
July 26, 2013
I first saw the advert, and I thought it was really brilliant (but i'm a sucker for good designs, adverts, all the arty side of things), so I decided that I had to pick it up in Boots!
I quickly discovered that although I loved the packaging, it was really awkward to physically hold in my hands, as it was round. I thought it would fit comfortably in the palm of my hand, but with my tiny hands, it was a bit big.
Before I get onto the product itself I should probably tell you that my hair is super thick, and it is naturally quite straight, with a few (annoying) flicks in it, and it's really hard to get products to hold in my hair. So the results from this product might not be the same for you as it is for me.

I first sprayed it onto damp hair, and I let my hair dry naturally. I think this method worked quite well, as my hair was a little bit wavier than it usually is, however, as soon as I brushed it (because if I didn't brush it, it would be all tangled and disgusting) the effect was gone, leaving my hair a little frizzy.
My next approach was to spray it onto dry hair, and twist into sections. I sprayed it quite far from my hair, but it still left my hair feeling sticky, and a little bit dry. However the curls were nice, and they stayed in, with just a little bit of hairspray.
My third approach was to spray it into sections, and scrunch. I did this, and again, the stickiness was back, but this time with frizz, and I mean, a lot of frizz! My hair looked like a birds nest.
Onto the smell, which for me, was not appealing at all. I really did not like the smell one bit, but I guess it's just personal preference.
One good thing about this product (apart forom the price, which is only £3.50!) was that it did what it said on the bottle: it made my hair matt. To some people, that's great, but for me, I found out that I like my hair with a bit of shine on it.
Overall, I was a little bit disappointed by this product, as i'd heard a lot of good reviews (mixed with some bad), but I will not be repurchasing it, as I don't think it did a great job on my hair. I would give it 3/5 .
thanks for reading!
