Maintaining Healthy Hair + A Letter To Someone From My Past || SBBC
September 08, 2013So today's SBBC is either "Maintaining Healthy Hair" or a "Letter To Someone From Your Past". I've actually already done a blog post about my hair (which you can find here), so this post is mainly going to focus on a letter to someone from my past.
And the person i'm picking is... my Papa (grand-dad, grandpa etc)
he passed away a year and a half ago, and i'm just going to write him one last letter.
Dear Papa,
I miss you dearly. Not a day goes by where you don't cross my thoughts, the world is definitely not the same without you. itlacks random, funny moments, as you always knew how to make me laugh, even if you didn't mean to. For example, remember the time you took the kettle into the bathroom? Or the time you forgot to get off the bus, and Caragh(my sister), had to bang on the bus shelter like a maniac to get your attention? Those were funny. I know, not all times were good, your Alzheimer's Disease really effected you. You would shout at us, forget names, and have no patience, but nobody hates you for that. We knew the reason. In fact, I think it helped add up to your already pretty perfect personality. You used to always talk about your time in the war, and I really admired your bravery, and looked up at you for doing that. Whenever I wore my fringed poncho you used to call me a red indian, and you used to always ask me if all the boys were chasing me, you thought I was beautiful, the bees knees, as you would say, and all these things will stick with me forever. It was hard when you first passed, everyone was filled with raw emotion, it's painful loosing someone you really love and care about, but I know you're in a better place now.
i guess I just wanted to let you know that I love you and miss you, and even though you're gone, you're still here in my heart.
I love you so much Papa.
Your dearest grand-daughter, Erin xx
I had to stop there, as things got a little emotional. Hope this isn't too depressing.
